There is now a total of 76 persons specialized in teaching and scientific research, including one academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, three Beijing-specially-invited professors, 27 college-specially-invited professors (16 tutors of post-graduate candidates) and 38 associate professors. Among them, 34 obtain Ph.D degrees (6 with post-Ph.D degree). The college sets up four master's degree, and one Ph.D degree authorization, and takes in master post-graduates in 15 fields and post-Ph.D in 6 fields. Fundamental Mathematics and Applied Mathematics are Beijing's key disciplines and key construction disciplines respectively. The department has undertaken 29 projects of State Natural Science Fund (3 key or important projects), two projects under "973", one project under "863", 20 provincial-level scientific research projects. These projects have won 10 provincial-level awards for teaching and scientific research achievements. Many teachers are awarded state, provincial-level prizes.
