The College of Literature of Capital Normal University, the predecessor of which was Department of Chinese Literature, comprises of four departments: Chinese Linguistics & Literature, Advanced Secretary Relating to Foreign Affairs, Comparative Literature and Film & TV Literature, and a Mandarin and Chinese Teaching Center for Foreigners. There are four academic institutions: Comparative Literature and Comparative Culture Academic Institution, Aesthetics Academic Institution, Juvenile Literature Academic Institution and Ancient Book Collation Research Institute,

and additionally, five research centers of China's Contemporary Culture Research Center: Li Zhi Research Center, Mandarin Test Center, Language Research Center and Chinese Female Culture Research Center. What's more, the Poem Research Center with Capital Normal University, as established mainly by research and development personnel from the College of Literature, has been approved to be a key research base for National Humanistic Community Sciences constructed jointly by Beijing Municipality and Ministry of Education. Currently, a complete discipline system and excellent academic traditions have been formed and established after 47 years development.
