Attached to the college are Department of Law,
Department of Politics, Department of Ideology and Politics,
Department of Economics & Management, as well as Oriental
Culture Institution, Marxism Theory & Ideology and Politics
Education Academic Institution, Philosophy and Culture Academic
Institution. The majors cover Law Science, Labor and Social
Security, Ideology and Politics Education, Social Work.
The department enjoys the authorization of Master's degrees
in Marxism Theory & Ideology and Politics Education, Course
and Teaching Theory, Politics, Marxism Philosophy and Educational
Master, (Discipline Education, Ideology and Politics). Joint
efforts have been taken to offer Ph.D in terms of Marxism
Theory & Ideology and Politics Education through cooperation
with Tsinghua University and University of Science & Technology
of Beijing.
Since the 9th Five Year Plan, the college has undertaken and
completed the construction of Marxism Theory & Ideology
and Politics Education, the key discipline of "211 Project"
of CNU, five projects of State Social Science Fund and 37
provincial and ministerial-level projects, with 30 treatises
published and 15 teaching materials compiled. One first class
award of Humanities and Social Sciences as issued by Ministry
of Education is won, and two first-class awards as well as
seven second-class awards for Beijing Municipality Philosophy
and Social Sciences are obtained.
For years, the college has cultivated a large number of talents
for Beijing Municipality in various fields and at all levels.
Now there are 897 graduates and 120 master post-graduates
in campus, and six doctor post-graduate are being educated
together with Tsinghua University. A total of 2800 are receiving
adult education or primary courses of post-graduate.
Since entering the list of "211 Project", CNU has
constructed a lot of computer rooms and multi-media rooms,
purchased modern facilities, books, and video materials for
teaching, which have significantly improved operating conditions.
All the teachers and students of College of Political Science
& Law will, depending on the current conditions and achievements,
seize various opportunities with exploring and creative spirit,
to attain new achievements through hardworking and studying
in the new century.
