The Department
of Biology owns one academician, one specially-invited professor,
nine professors, 25 associate professors, three tutors of Ph.D
and 30 tutors of post-graduate candidates. Young pedagogue aged
below 45 all have master's degree or above, including 18 with
Ph.D degree and five taking their Ph.D courses now.
There are six majors of Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Ecology,
Biochemistry and Ecology Biochemistry and Molecular Biology,
as well as one Beijing's key project, three university-level
projects, one university-level key lab, five research sections
and seven graduate labs. In 2002, approval was obtained from
Beijing Municipal Education Committee to establish, in our university,
a Talent Training Base and Production-Learning-Research Base
for Life Science, two bases for post-graduates and regular graduates
to be set up jointly by our university and Beijing Agricultural
and Forestry Science Institute and Beijing Zoo. The lab and
research section enjoy a total area of 2400 square meters.
The teachers, area of labs, facilities and conditions as well
as advanced apparatuses and devices can fully meet the needs
in teaching and scientific research of various specialties.
