College of International Culture
Capital Normal University began international cultural exchange
in1965. In 1999, College of International Culture was founded,
mainly responsible for international culture exchange and
foreign affairs. The college plays an important role in enhancing
teaching, scientific research and internationalization by
introducing foreign specialists, taking in foreign students,
carrying out Sino-foreign teaching cooperation, implementing
long and short-term educational training, exploring cooperative
scientific research projects and offering studying-abroad
advisory services. There are several departments: Cultural
International Exchange, Foreign Students, Foreign Chinese
Teaching Center, Studying-abroad Advisory Service Center,
Training and Foreign Hotel, with a total of more than 70 staff
members.
The Chinese Teaching Center for Foreigner specializes in teaching
Chinese for foreign students. Among 50 teachers, most of them
hold Ph.D degree (including in-school Ph.D) and master's degree.
90 percent of teachers have working experience in instructing
Chinese abroad or studied abroad for a very long time. The
Center also undertakes State Chinese Level Test (HSK) for
Secretary and Research on Chinese-Teaching-for-Foreigner Network
Education Share Platform and Resource Database Criteria, a
project of State Chinese Language Office during the 10th Five
Year Plan, to be carried out in collaboration with Tsinghua
University. It is also approved to be a State Test Base for
Chinese Language for Foreigners and a test site for HSK.
Studying-abroad Advisory Service Center is one of the first
intermediaries that is approved by Ministry of Public Security
to be qualified for studying-abroad service. Besides the service,
it also holds various foreign languages-training classes.
It can handles formalities related to studying abroad including
Japan, Germany, France, British, New Zealand, Australia and
Canada.
