| Our
university began to take in graduates in 1979.For the past 20
years since the foundation of Graduate Affairs Office, by unremitting
efforts from generations of people in Capital Normal University,
the degree and graduate education of our university has achieved
great improvements in the fields of recruited students scale,
subjects empowered to grant degree, tutor team construction
and gradate cultivation, etc. In 1984, for the first time our
university has been granted the right to cultivate postgraduates
in three fields. Till now, there have been 16 fields in our
university that has the right to cultivate postgraduates, and
48 postgraduate tutors. |

Approved by the State Ministry of Personnel and National Postdoctoral
Administration Committee, our university establishes postdoctoral
research center in the fields of history and Chinese linguistics
& literature. The department of Fine Arts in our university
can recruit postdoctoral researchers based upon projects assigned.
In 1981, for the first time, our university was granted the
rights to cultivate graduates in five fields. Till now, there
are 54 fields in our university that has the rights to cultivate
graduate and 301 graduate tutors. In Oct.1999, the Degree Office
under the State Council approved our university to be an experimental
university to recruit graduates in the field of education. The
goal of the degree that features specific educational profession
background is to cultivate high-level practical talents for
the fundamental education administration and teaching. Till
now, our university has recruited three batches of gradates
in this field. Currently, there are 1,184 graduates in our university,
among which there are 203 graduates in the field of education.
In 1999, the Graduate Affairs Office in our university was appraised
to be a national advance unit for degree and graduate education
and administration by the Ministry of Education.
